Or maybe just one? The first CD consists of four brand new pieces, seven from the classical and contemporary piano repertoire and another one so new that it has never been performed live. The second CD is the Sonata for Piano that is divided into three movements lasting 40 minutes non-stop. The track list is the same lineup as my recent solo piano concerts. The track list, as usual in my choices, is a sort of narrative path. The repertoire also reveals my origins and the origin of the music that I write. As well reveals the two musician that i am: the composer and the interpreter. These are Mainly stories of rooms, rooms that i belong or that belongs in my life or that belong just to the history of the rooms. Some are also pieces that helped me return to playing, to leave the room. Others are pieces dedicated by oyher composers to stories of rooms or derived from their experience in them. At least I realised that I have already written about rooms in the past, and i never thought about it. The first disc is also a sort of preparation for the Sonata, like a path of connecting doors that lead us from one room to another. As usual it is a story that cannot be told, though maybe you will recognise yourself in the story, or you will realise what kind of story it was at the end. Because for me, when you tell a story you will change it, it is the reason why music exists, to allow us to live a story that doesn't need words. My role is just to try to give you some helpful tools and clues to help you a little. But as one doesn't reveal the end of a book or a film, one doesn't reveal the last chord of a piece. The album was recorded almost live with an audience at the Teatro Sociale di Gualtieri between the 1st and the 4th of September 2015. All the sound that you hear is produced just by the piano: the dynamic range in respect to the performance and the postproduction is minimised, and based on the concept of giving the listener the experience of feeling themselves to be almost inside a piano.
